We Want Revival. We Need A Reformation.

You Want a Reformation?

Many people today, including me, say we want Revival.  Recently I've been looking at revivals of the past and wondered why we can't seem to get there.  Why won't God do that again?

In talking to a friend of mine recently, he said,"Maybe God is already doing Revival." He was referring to the huge and spreading Hebrew Roots or Torah Movement. I thought about it and remembered that I had thought that before also.  Here is a look at what Yehovah says about revival / reformation - in His Word:

Leviticus 26:14 But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments 15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: 16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.  17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursues you.  18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will punish you seven times more for your sins.  19 And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:  20 And your strength shall be spent in vain: for your land shall not yield her increase, neither shall the trees of the land yield their fruits.  21 And if ye walk contrary unto me, and will not hearken unto me; I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.  22 I will also send wild beasts among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy your cattle, and make you few in number; and your high ways shall be desolate.
23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;  24 Then will I also walk contrary unto you, and will punish you yet seven times for your sins.  25 And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.  26 And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.
27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;                                  28 Then I will walk contrary unto you also in fury; and I, even I, will chastise you seven times for your sins.
REFORM -  03256.  roy  yacar,  yaw-sar'  =  a primitive root; to chastise, literally (with blows) or figuratively (with words); hence, to instruct:--bind, chasten, chastise, correct, instruct, punish, reform, reprove, sore, teach.
Looking “reform” up in the KJV by its Hebrew word it has several uses:  Punish, Chastise, Instruct, Chasten, Correct, Reprove, Teach;

Although most of these imply harsh treatment as if out of anger, it also “implies” that there needs to be correction.  In other words, if the church wants reformation, they will have to admit that they “need to be corrected”.  If God thinks we need correction, it will come in His way.  The Bible is clear on how God did this for the nations of Israel and Judah.  They received greater and greater trials and tribulation which ultimately resulted in their captivity or exile.
Once in a while, the people saw the trouble and cried out to God for help.  The book of Judges is full of examples of this, and God always sent them a Deliverer!  Each of these was a “type” of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) – Gideon, Jepthah, Samson, Samuel. Long before the Judges, God raised up Moses as the Deliverer.   We are living in a day where we already know who the Ultimate Deliverer was and is – Yeshua!!
If we know Him and believe we are His followers, why would we need correction ??  Maybe we are not living the way He intended us to.  A close reading of the Torah makes it clear that God’s teaching and instructions which the church has labeled as “the law” are what we need to learn, teach and do.  Love the LORD your God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself all come straight from the Torah.  Jesus didn’t introduce this as a “new” idea.  He knew it was from Torah and taught and followed God’s ways perfectly.
The bottom line is this:  God wants all who claim to believe in Jesus, His Son, the Messiah of Israel and Savior of the World to do away with their foolish traditions of men and false religious practices added when Rome took over the church.  These lies we have inherited from our fathers, grandfathers, etc.  have caused the church to drift so far from the true intention God had in sending Jesus.
We need to relook at the Torah but not become “Jewish”.  All of the Torah was for God’s people whatever their lineage was.  True he had some specific promises to the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but he wanted Israel “plus” whoever else would join themselves to the God of Israel to keep His commandments FOREVER!!!  The  church is clearly not doing anything close to this.  There will be NO REFORMATION until we realize how far we have strayed and admit to God that we have “ignored his commandments and despised his statutes and abhorred his judgments”.

Is that it?  It's just over? NO reformation and we're just done?  No.  Of course not. If you are reading this and have never heard of the Hebrew Roots movement or Torah observant believers, it's not too late.  God started doing a work in the Church of Jesus Christ with in the last 10-20 years (possibly further back), but for me, it began in April 2006.  I happened to meet a pastor, Mark Biltz, of El Shaddai Ministries.

He teaches the Torah (1st five books of Moses) to Christians.  I learned about the Feasts of the LORD, the Sabbath, and many more of God's commandments that are NOT done away with.  The church has had it wrong, but God is revealing His Truth.

You can find El Shaddai Ministries or several other good teachers out there who are not connected to most churches you know.  There are some very gifted men teaching the Hebrew Roots.  The best place to start is, however, the Bible.  Start reading the Old Testament from the beginning.  Ask God to teach you by His Spirit. You MUST understand that while some things cannot be followed today, many of God's commandments can and should be followed.  That is, if you are saved by the blood of Jesus (Yeshua) and truly love Him and God the Father.
If you love him, keep his commandments!

You can also check out my YouTube channel under :  Return to Yehovah.  It's nothing fancy, but there are videos that can help you get going.

I believe God IS reviving His people today!  It is possible to miss that by listening to the same messages in the mainline / evangelical churches of today.  Until the pastor or leaders have had their eyes opened to the truth of God's Torah, they will never be able to feed you more than milk.  Milk is fine for babies and maybe toddlers.  God wants grown ups as His people.  He wants you eating meat; the meat of His Word.

You won't need a new Bible, you just need to read and believe the one you should already have!  It is an amazing thing that God is doing.  Don't miss out.

You can always write / contact me for more information or to direct you better.

Your brother,

Gregg
