What did the Apostle Paul say about the Law?

Today, if you mention to most any believer in Yeshua that we should be keeping the Law of God from the Torah, they can’t handle it.  They immediately assume you are crazy or from some strange new cult.  Somehow you must not know that Paul taught us we don’t have to keep the Law anymore – that was done away.

Some will quote Galatians, Colossians or Romans – just a verse or two, and leave.  Goodbye!

Those of us who have the “testimony of Yeshua and Keep the commandments of God” see things differently.

If you are wondering, that phrase I put in quotes above is found twice in the Book of Revelation.

*Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

*Revelation 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

These people are alive on earth today.  They are just simple followers of Yeshua who have had their eyes opened to the Truth of the Torah as written by Moses.  They are not part of any one denomination and don’t follow any one man.  They do their best to follow Yeshua and the Law of Yehovah his Father.

Now, back to Paul.  Is anyone else shocked that most of the Christian world takes what they “believe” Paul taught over anything God or Yeshua actually said?!!  That is what is going on.  I see it all the time.  Somehow people have come to believe that the Law was nailed to the cross, so we don’t have to keep the Sabbath, or God’s Feast Days or eat clean foods or any of that.

Yet, no where will you find that God or Yeshua told us to stop keeping His Law. Nowhere!

In fact, here are a few passages with what Paul actually did say (or write):

Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, "You shall not commit adultery," "You shall not murder," "You shall not steal," "You shall not bear false witness," "You shall not covet," and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

1Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing but keeping the commandments of God is what matters.

Galatians 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

I will grant you that a lot of what Paul did say and write can be very confusing.  When you don’t know what the Torah says, it “sounds like” He is saying the Law is done away.  Once you learn the Torah, you see that he just explains it in such an intelligent way, that many of us have a hard time following him. Paul was very smart.  He was highly trained and educated and knew his material.  But he also knew the Torah.  He knew the teachings of the Pharisees as well and was able to see the differences between the two.  That is why he was able to refute the ‘judaizers’ who tried to impose rules on Gentile converts.

No question, though, Paul had a great zeal for God, and then met Yeshua on the Damascus Road.  Then he was changed.  He literally saw the light and learned the point of the Torah.  It led us to Yeshua but was never done away.

Once you become ‘saved’ by the blood of the Lamb, you can then start over with God (being born again spiritually) and get back to keeping His Ways.

The Torah is the instruction book for this life.  It was given to us so we could love God and love our neighbor as ourselves.  That is the Way God wants us to walk.  We can only find it in the written books of Moses from Genesis to Deuteronomy.

Until you have read and learned these books – after several years of studying – THEN you can tell me what Paul meant in his letters.  Actually, you will be able to see it for yourself and you will be amazed.  God’s Law opens our eyes and helps us understand the rest of the Book – all the way to the Revelation of Yeshua the Messiah!

If you haven’t already started this journey, get on with it. Grab your bible and start reading at the beginning. Ask God to show you and teach you. Let His Holy Spirit guide you through the pages.  Don’t be in a hurry.  This is the MOST IMPORTANT book you will ever read.  Period.

Believe me. You will never regret it…
